What most owners tell us.
Unedited words from verified buyers. The theme that comes up again and again: conversations and TV got easier, for them and for the people around them.
It's amazing how much clearer I can hear the TV and the conversations of family members. I didn't realize how loud the TV was for others when I didn't use the Core One Pro.Chris Z. · verified buyer, ceretone.com
He is always turning up the tv, telling everyone he didn't hear someone the first time so you have to repeat… These have been life changing.April S., about her husband · ceretone.com
I'm 80 and I can hearing everything even what I don't want. Easy to use, rechargeable, excellent value, and well-made product.Julieth B. · Walmart.com
My husband lost his hearing a year ago and we haven't been able to adjust to the hearing aids he was given by his doctor. Upon using these he was in awe with how comfortable the fit was and the sound not being so loud.Whitney H. · ceretone.com
The support staff answered my questions quickly and very nicely! … I've had them for a year now and still love them!David S. · Better Business Bureau review
I have low to moderate hearing loss and these hearing aids are comfortable and help with hearing. The aids charge fairly quickly and last all day… The price point for these hearing aids is exceptional.Rafael M. · ceretone.com

What people don't like, and what actually helps.
No hearing aid works for everyone, and a few things come up in our lower reviews again and again. Here they are, in our customers' words.
1. "It whistles sometimes."
"They are a tiny bit difficult to get in the ear just right and some feedback occurs, requiring adjustment."Christina C., 3 stars · Walmart.com
Whistling means sound is leaking out around the tip and back into the microphone. It's the most common complaint we get, and it's almost always about fit, not a broken aid.
What helpsTry the next ear tip size (there are 4 sizes in the box) and slide the aid in a little deeper. A snug seal usually stops it. Watch how to change the tips, or call us and we'll walk you through it.
2. "Sounds sharp, tinny or echoey at first."
"Gradual acclimation recommended over a week… Whispers are loud. Adjustment period needed for comfort."Veronica C., 5 stars · Walmart.com
Your brain hasn't heard some higher-pitched sounds in years, so at first they can seem too bright, and your own voice can sound odd.
What helpsStart at a low volume and wear them 1 to 2 hours a day in week one, then build up (see the 4-week plan below). For many people things settle by week three or four. That's why the trial is 100 days, not 30.
3. "I have to use the case to change the volume."
"They fit in the ear canal very nice. I am not happy that you have to take them out and put them in the case to adjust the volume."Judith, 3 stars · ceretone.com
We chose buttons on the case over a smartphone app, so it works for people who don't want to pair, update or charge a phone to hear. You set the volume on the case; you can switch listening programs with a double tap by your ear.
The honest answerIf you want to stream music or control everything from an app, Core One Pro is not the right pick. If you want something with no phone at all, it is.
4. "The program changes by itself."
"Only downside is that they sometimes change settings on their own like loud music, wind, dog barks… But overall definitely would buy again."Dennis, 4 stars · ceretone.com
The tap control on each aid is sensitive, so a push while putting them in, or a strong bump, can count as a tap.
What helpsA short voice prompt in your ear tells you which program you're on, and a double tap switches it again. If it keeps happening, call us and we'll help with fit and handling.
5. "It doesn't fit my ear."
"I really like it although it doesn't quite fit in my left ear as the canal is smaller."Jeanne C., 3 stars · ceretone.com
Ears are different. Some people with narrow ear canals tell us it's the best fit they've had; others can't get comfortable even with the smallest tip.
"Fits well in my small ear canal and is very comfortable. I have tried other brands and these are the best fit."Diane Q., 4 stars · ceretone.com
What helpsTry all 4 tip sizes (XS to L). If none feels right, send it back within 100 days for a full refund. We pay the postage.
Who it's for, and who should skip it.
A good fit if…
- The TV is louder than everyone else likes
- You catch one voice fine, but lose track at dinners and restaurants
- You don't want an app, a smartphone or a clinic visit
- You'd like nothing showing behind your ear
- Your hearing loss is mild to moderate
Probably not for you if…
- You've been told your hearing loss is severe or profound. Please see a hearing professional
- You want Bluetooth streaming or app controls
- You need to change volume without touching the case
- You have sudden hearing loss, ear pain or drainage. See a doctor first
What the first four weeks really look like.
Hearing aids aren't glasses. Your brain needs a few weeks to get used to sounds it has been missing. This is the plan we give every customer.
-
Week 1
Go easy
Wear them 1 to 2 hours a day at home. Just get used to everyday sounds.
-
Week 2
Practice listening
Build up to 3 to 4 hours. Try quiet public places and talk with people.
-
Week 3
Add some noise
Aim for 4 to 5 hours, including busier places like restaurants.
-
Week 4
Live it up
6 hours or more a day. Take a break now and then.
Watch before you buy: how to put Core One Pro in. If this looks doable, you can do it.
